The Mass Effect community has always been a group of high-achievers, and we’re always looking for ways to allow them to show off their mission prestige with friends in new and powerful ways.
Our multiplayer experience, including APEX Missions, is the center of our community’s in-game universe. You suit up with a team of friends, charge into unknown dangers, and emerge victorious with a story—and your just rewards—to share. You can also download the APEX HQ companion app and keep your teams progressing everywhere you go. So it was only natural that we would look to combine those multiplayer challenges with a unique platform for sharing them.
Facebook Camera works with the recently-unveiled (at the Facebook F8 developer conference today) Facebook Camera Effect Platform, launching in a few months. This platform will allow artists and developers to create augmented reality effects for the Facebook camera easily – including adding masks and interactive effects to any photo, video, or Live broadcast. We see it as the perfect opportunity to bring the games we love into the content we share.
Check out the video to see the technology in action, and learn more at the Facebook Developer blog.
When launched, the augmented reality sharing functionality will work through the Facebook camera and the APEX HQ App. Be sure to download it now, so you’re ready to add these extra dimensions to your multiplayer experience.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Origin on PC.
